very desirable long pressed taper to the ferrule. Based on an absolutely mint
gold-label Wizard from the late 1940’s, the rod has been converted to full
Black Label Wizard specification. Long all shive handle. New convex knurl
brass reel-bands. Original tapered shoulder collar. Custom-made narrow butt
cap to Allcocks’ original sculptured design. Original Allcocks black rubber
button, on felt ring. Original large real agate in German silver butt ring.
New agate tip, and new s/s high bells inters (two additional rings, all
minimum sized). Fine green silk all through, with close intermediates.
Perfectly finished. So far, only five Black Label Wizards have been
re-produced: this is the best of them. £695

handle. Blued brass fittings. Stand-off inters. Agate butt and tip. Green

increasingly difficult to find Wizards rods that are suitable for completion
to Black Label specification, and this is certainly the first of the through
whole cane versions to come to hand that warrants the work. New convex knurl

is only the sixth Black Label Wizard reproduction to be made, and the only
one with whole cane through the handle . Utterly beautiful in appearance, and
completely capable in use. One of the finest all-round coarse rods in the

ARTICLE) £765 SOLD Allcocks 1940c ? ‘Little Wizard’. 10¼’ Allcocks never
actually made a Little Wizard so far as we know, but that is effectively just
what this is: a Wizard, but scaled down in size. It has whole cane butt, with
split cane middle and top. The rod has a been completely refurbished with
gold oval, green silk whips, agate but and tip rings, very small HBL
stainless rings, long shive handle with original brass reel bands and tapered
collar, and brass butt cap. A lovely little rod for smaller rivers, but still
capable of landing substantial chub, or perhaps sea-trout. £350 SOLD Allcocks 1959c Record Breaker. 10’6” /3. All split cane. A
good sound R/B in original form. Re-ringed and whipped in original colours.

like Chris Yates’. All split cane. This is the rare, and very sought after
early Gold Oval model. Stunningly restored to better than new condition.

little rod. £375. SOLD Allcocks Lucky Strike c1950 10’6” 3/3. An early GOLD LABEL
Lucky Strike, with non-standard ferrules with proper welted reinforcements on
the females (rather than the usual plain tubes). Excellent brass fittings,
and excellent unworn original handle, which has been newly-treated with
traditional preservative. Tapered brass threaded butt cap (rather than the
usual plain cap). One housing sliding band, one plain. Restored to better
than new, with agate butt and tip rings, and small high bells inters. New
pure silk wraps in dark blue (as original). This is as good as a Lucky Strike
