This is a close, but lighter actioned
copy of the B. James Avocet. Appears hardly to have been used from
new. Long Avocet-style cork handle with onion top. Red ties and inter. Agate
butt and tip, S/O inters. Light, and very capable. £395 B. James 1965 c Olympic 11’0” 3 Three piece, all split cane. Heavier in the
butt and lighter in the tip than the late period all split cane Avocet – and
an infinitely better rod design . Superb straight cane. Thin handle with
original late B.James alloy reel bands. Fitted with agate butt and tip rings,
FOB intermediates. Fine silk whippings. Restored to new, without intermediate
whips. All round big fish rod. £395 B.James 1962c Mk IV Carp 10’2” /2 Excellent
Mk IV in first class factory condition. Bought from its original owner
who reported that it was used only for one season. Very fine whippings.

appears hardly to have been used. £475 Chapman 1961 c Shelford 11’0” /3 All split cane. Similar in action to the
Allcocks Lucky Strike. One of the nicest of all Chapman rods, although it is
very uncommon. A proper all-rounder for everything up to good chub size.
Really excellent medium-baked cane. Fully restored to better than new. £345 Chapman 1965 c 500. 10’ /2 plus handle. Restored to better than new. Agate
butt and tip. Red silk. Original gold transfer. Steely dark early cane.

quality making and fittings all through, and a very special black and gold
badge. They will be made as materials become available, and hopefully the

for the long time barbel record holder. All split cane. Most twelve foot
split cane rods are too heavy, and too floppy, however, this super rod is
light, tight, steely, and very powerful. Long, slim handle with small onion

shoulder collar. Whipped throughout in fine, deep red, pure silk. Agate
butt and tip, fob intermediates. Perfect for lead, and particularly useful

One of the finest Mk IVs ever handled. Tight and steely. Long 28” slim handle
with small onion top flare. Hand-made Coxon &. Waterman reel bands,
and shoulder collar. Whipped
throughout in fine, deep red, pure silk, fine graduated intermediates. Agate
butt and tip, fob intermediates. Very
special: there is no better Mk IV for sale anywhere. £475 Coxon & Waterman Vintage style bank sticks. Approx. 24” x ½” diam. (30“ overall).
Individual, or sets of graduated length
hand-made to order. Whole cane with unique tortoiseshell patterning.
Inset brass 3/8” BSF standard thread. 6” approx. spike. Whipped top and
bottom in pure silk, and high-gloss varnished to a high standard. Coxon
&. Waterman labelled. These are fiddly, and time-consuming to make, but
they do complement a traditional outfit very nicely. Delivery approx. 4 weeks.

top. A magnificent barbel and big fish rod. Approx. the same cane dimensions
as the B.James version, but steelier in action, particularly in the lower mid
section, and an even nicer rod to use. Certainly in the same class as the
super-rare Judd Senior Wizard. Long, slim handle, with small onion top flare,
and new hand-turned furnishings (shoulder collar, reel bands, and butt cap).
Closely whipped throughout with green pure silk. Real agate in nickel silver
butt ring, agate tip ring, fob intermediates. Beautifully finished. One of
the best rods we have ever handled. £595 Fosters 1955 The Avon Rod. 10’3” /2 plus handle. Wonderful quality.
Effectively a Mk IV Avon, but infinitely better than the B.James version.
Original Saphrite Agate butt and tip LBL inters. Silk whipped. Fully restored
